An important component of the restoration process is the availability of a healing church community that can serve a recovering leader and their family. CLIMB Intercultural Society will identify church communities that can be part of the restorative network. The following questions will reveal if a church has the necessary traits to be an effective restorative community:
Can the candidate be honest about their faults and failures?
Are church leaders able to distinguish between judging the sin and judging the person? Are they able to confront sin and at the same time offer grace and forgiveness?
Does the church have a system of accountability for its leaders? Can the candidate be included in this process?
Are church leaders able to validate the skills, gifts and positive qualities of the candidate?
Is the church a safe community for the family and others close to the candidate?
Is there a pathway to leadership in the church?
